Miscreants have snatched away 300 ballot papers from a centre in Kurigram Sadar Upazila just hours after polls began.
Voting remained suspended for an hour in the centre, Presiding Officer Akhtaruzzaman said.
Some people attacked the Holokhana Dwimukhi High School around 11am on Saturday and vandalised a booth there before snatching away ballot papers, he said.
The polling officers were also assaulted, Akhtaruzzaman said.
Voting resumed in the centre after one hour.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO-Fulbarhi) Sheikh Belayet Hossain said 100 ballot papers were recovered from the nearby market.
Witness Aminul said supporters of the Jatiya Party-backed candidate Chowdhury Shafiqul Islam had occupied the polling station.
Sadar Police Station ASI Anwar Hossain said a strike force led by UNO Hossain arrived at the centre 40 minutes later and restored order.
