Bangladesh Elected Vice Chair in Reo Conference. Bangladesh got the nomination on Monday.
A number of five countries from the Asia region have been nominated as Vice Chairman. The other countries are Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Japan and Nepal.
Talking about the nomination, Minister for Environment and Forest Dr Hasan Mahmud said "the nomination is a symbol of support by the world leaders to Bangladesh." He said the nomination has increased the responsibility of Bangladesh in the field of global climate diplomacy.
Bangladesh also gets an opportunity to contribute in the sustainable development of the world through the conference, said Dr Hasan Mahmud.
Permanent representative of Bangladesh in the United Nations (UN) Dr AK Abdul Momen also attended at the dialogue during the nomination.
The member countries have extended their full support for nominating Bangladesh, said Dr Momen.
Around 50,000 activists, business executives and policymakers are attending the 10-day forum. The summit is going to start on Wednesday.
