The Bangladesh government has decided to set up 10 power plants with a capacity of generating 830 mw on emergency basis to meet the growing demand for electricity. Briefing reporters after an ECNEC meeting at the NEC conference room here. Total of Taka 7,203 crpre will be needed to set up the new power plants and those would be kept operational during peak hours.

What a nuclear power plant does is boil water. The boiled water becomes steam, the steam turns a turbine, and the rotating turbine spins conductors in a magnetic field to generate electricity. What makes this simple process complicated is that a nuclear reactor boils water in a complicated and dangerous way. Going nuclear, therefore, shouldn't be a foregone conclusion.
