"The movement, to be launched after Eid, will finally turn into an oust-government one. I urge all, including the political parties alongside the 18-party alliance, professionals and intellectuals, to be united under a single platform to save the country from further destruction," she told an Iftar party.
Dhaka City unit BNP arranged the Iftar on the premises of LD Hall of Parliament.
In her address prior to the Iftar, Khaleda alleged that the government has destroyed the country during its three and a half years' rule through unbridled corruption and misrule.
About Padma Bridge, Khaleda said the World Bank and other international organisations stopped funding for the bridge project due to corruption by the government. "This government won't be able to construct the bridge in its tenure."
Referring to the shabby conditions of roads and highways across the country, the former premier said the government did not carry out any development or repair work on the roads in its tenure.
"The Prime Minster made a patriot (Abul Hossain) minister. He is actually a money monger... he pocketed huge public money instead of
developing infrastructures," the opposition leader said pointing finger at ex-communications and ICT minister Syed Abul Hossain.
Hossain resigned recently amid charges of corruption by the World Bank in the Padma Bridge project.
Reiterating her party's stance on CG issue, Khaleda said: "We want to clearly tell the government to take steps to hold the polls under a caretaker government through amending the constitution as no election will be allowed under any party government."
